Dr. Viktoria Koutsoukou is an anesthesiologist and emergency medicine specialist with long-standing and well-documented clinical experience in intensive care and emergency medicine. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina in 1993 and obtained her specialization in Anesthesiology in 1998. After her postgraduate training in Italy, she worked initially in the private sector and, since 2000, she has joined the National Health System (NHS). She served continuously for 19 years as a Consultant in a multidisciplinary Intensive Care Unit, gaining extensive experience in the management of critically ill patients and in making crucial clinical decisions. In 2019, following an open call, she was appointed Director of the Emergency Department at the General Hospital of Athens “G. Gennimatas”, assuming full scientific and administrative responsibility. She has played a decisive role in the organization and upgrading of the Emergency Department, with emphasis on triage, the establishment of a Fast Track clinic, and the overall improvement of workflow efficiency.
