Halla Hazelrigg Bates, MD is a PGY-4 and Chief Resident in Emergency Medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital. Her interest in global health and palliative care began during her undergraduate studies at Bowdoin College, where she majored in Anthropology and minored in Spanish. She went on to attend the Tufts University School of Medicine Maine Track, a program dedicated to training the next generation of rural physicians. In the coming academic year, Halla will travel to Edinburgh to complete a master’s degree in Planetary Health as part of Yale’s Global Health Fellowship with the goal of better understanding the interplay of climate change and population medicine.
