Zeynep Sofuoglu

Professor of Public Health, Head of the Department of Public Health, Faculty of Medicine, Izmir Democracy University, Turkey

Zeynep Sofuoglu is a medical doctor and Professor of Public Health, currently serving as the Head of the Department of Public Health at İzmir Democracy University Faculty of Medicine, Izmir, Turkey. She is also a Board Member of the Ambulance and Emergency Physicians Association. She earned her PhD in Public and Occupational Health from Dokuz Eylül University and holds a master’s degree in Safety Promotion from the Karolinska Institute. In addition to her academic and clinical work, she is a certified Psychodrama Group Leader. Since 2008, she has actively participated in numerous international research and collaboration projects, including the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme (FP7), Horizon 2020 (H2020), and Erasmus+ Key Action 2 initiatives. Her work in European Commission-funded initiatives bridges field implementation and scientific inquiry, transforming Ambulance and Disaster response field experiences into rigorous research outputs and contributing to the international emergency medical services and public health literature.
